Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 1000% - Idol Song Kurusu Syo CD review

Title: Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 1000% Idol Song Kurusu Syo
Artists: Kurusu Syo (Shimono Hiro)
Release date: 17 August 2011
Version: n/a

Packaging: Like the rest in the series the packaging is the basic jewel case, cover/booklet and back cover. All in Syo's image color, pink. I do not think the artwork does as well to showcase his personality, someone who idolizes the "manly" ideal, with it but it does not make him look out of character either.

Tracks:

1. 男気全開Go!Fight!! (Otokogi Zenkai Go! Fight!!)
Like the rest of the singles in this series this song features the instrument that is associated with the character, the violin. Of course it is just used here and there in the song but it works wonderfully that way giving a good contrast to the rock flavor of this song. The song just is perfect for the character with his ideal being to be "manly" the rock helps back that up even with the violin being used. Also the shouts in the song support that image and just the tone overall. I do not see any other character from STARISH being able to pull this song off so it is a perfect image song.

2. Changing our Song!
A fun pop song that contrasts quite a bit with the first song on the single. The chorus has a light pop feel to it and overall the song has this bouncy feel to it. So a much different tone from the other track. It has a light jazzy sound to it in parts and even has a bit of a guitar solo near the end. I honestly do not care much for this song as it is rather forgettable as it does that really makes it stand out outside of near the end with the electric guitar. If that was used more in the song I think it would have made it stronger.

3. 男気全開Go!Fight!! (Otokogi Zenkai Go! Fight!!) (off vocal)
4. Changing our Song! (off vocal)

Overall: Really nothing to say more about the packaging other than it does come off as the weakest one yet in regards to showing off the character's personality.

I really like the first song for Syo, as again I think it does great with capturing the character's personality and works really well with Shimono's voice. And the song just screams Syo all the way through. The other song is basically the opposite, outside of the vocals even though they do not seem to shine so much in it. But the first song really saves this single for me.
